I have to admit that I am a chick-lit fan. I love to read, almost anything. I am addicted to buying books. I have about 30 unread books on my bookshelf at home, and am awaiting my most recent order from Barnes and Noble of 12 more books (they were on clearance, I HAD to buy them!!) Although I have a wide variety of genres on my bookshelf, I will admit that I do love the ocassional chick-lit book. I don't have to really think about what I am reading, if I miss a few pages, I am easily able to catch up, and I am not really "learning" anything new from the book. Pure entertainment. Here are the latest books that I added to my Amazon Wish List (which you can find at amazon.com, search for my name). I have not read these books yet, so I have no idea whether they are good not, but they will eventually end up on my bookshelf. Let me kow if you have read any of them and what you thought!!
It's About Your Husband by Lauren Lipton
The Beach House by Jane Green
Queen of Babble (Series) by Meg Cabot
This Charming Man: A Novel by Marion Keyes
LoveHampton by Sherri Rifkin
Whacked by Jules Asner
Girls in Trucks by Katie Crouch
I am also a fan of Jennifer Weiner and am just about done with her book, Good in Bed, and no, it is not a "how to" book!!
I am also currently reading Songs of the Missing by Stewart O'Nan, which is part of the Barnes and Noble First Look Book Club, and will be reading The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein for my book club at home. Did i mention that I love to read??
I also ran across an interesting blog today that I would like to share. I found www.MommaSaid.net today, can;t remember where I found it. But is was a very interesting and informative blog/ website. And did you know that today is Please take my children to work Day. This is a holiday created by MommaSaid founder Jen Singer which promotes a day off for stay at home moms. Several states have declared this a state holiday, check out her blog for more info and links to find out if your state participates. And for those in the Springfield, Il area, my favorite website around here is www.springfieldmoms.org. This site if chock full of information about being a mom in the Springfield area, including things to do, summer camps. movies, resources, etc. Love it!! Check these out if you have time.
