Random Rambling

  • Jul. 3rd, 2008 at 9:09 AM

Today is the day before a holiday, a day that my brain is checking out early and ready to sleep in tomorrow, play as much as I can this weekend, and then attempt to get back into the groove by Monday morning.  So today I am going to just use this space to whine/ complain/ ramble on aimlessly about nothing that really matters.

Do you know what I really hate?  I really hate it when you have your drivers seat in the perfect position, and someone moves it.  My daughter did that last night while we were cleaning out the car.  She even told me she was doing it.  It didn't bother me until I got in the car later to head to swimming lessons, and it took me until we got there to get semi-comfortable.  I can never get it back exactly as it was.  The next car I buy will definitely have "memory" seats, or whatever they are called.

I've been kind of grumpy the past few days.  I have been blessed by my monthly visit from that friend we all love to hate.  Only, I started early and have not stopped!!  When is this ever going to end!!  Cramps, headaches, moodiness... sorry kids, I can't help it.  I'll make it up to you next week.

What to do for the 4th?  Well, we may go to the waterpark, if it isn't raining.  I know it will be crowded, but I love to watch the kids play and overcome their fears and go down the slides.  It is a blast, and dad can even enjoy with us this time.  They can show off some of their newly learned skills acquired in the past several weeks at swimming lessons.  Their dad will be so proud.  And what about fireworks?  There are several options this year around here.  I guess we have until tomorrow around dusk to figure that out.

The old saying goes, "knee high by the 4th of July", referring to the corn.  Generally the corn around here is at least shoulder high by this time of the summer.  Not this year.  This is the first time I can ever remember seeing corn that is NOT knee high by the 4th of July.  As my kids would say, "Rain, rain, go away..."

Have a great 4th of July!!
