Here's a short recap of our three day weekend.

A friend of mine gave me two free tickets to see High School Musical, Live at Sangamon Auditorium on Friday night.  I was able to get the little one in for free, so we went.  I didn't know it was all local actors and actresses.  I am quite impressed with the caliber of talent we have right here in central Illinois.  And the majority of the cast was high school kids.  Wow!  The lead male, who played Troy, was as cute as Zach Efron, and boy could he sing!  The girls loved it and had to rent the movie on Saturday.  Thanks to Donna for the tickets!

Saturday the hubby and I went to the $10,000 Dance.  It is a chance to win $10,000, hang out with friends, eat good food, drink some beer and a reason to get dressed up.  We didn't win anything, but one couple at our table won $100 and bought a round of shots!  The best part of the night was catching up with an old friend who came in from North Carolina to attend the dance with his family.

Sunday was the opening of race season!  My brother and his girlfriend came over and we all watched the Daytona 500.  Now I am looking forward to going to Michigan in August, we go every year.  August is so far away, though!

I walked 3.5 miles on Sunday afternoon.  I am in training for my first Half Marathon (walking not running), which will be in St. Louis in April.  It took me about an hour, so I am close to the pace that I want to maintain on marathon day.  My goal is to finish 13.1 miles in 4 hours or less.

I received an MP3 player for Christmas from my parents in 2007, yes I did mean 2007.  I opened it this weekend.  On Sunday afternoon I loaded about 6 of my favorite cd's onto it before my walk.  I love my MP3 player.  Sunday night, after the girls went to bed and the hubby left for work, I loaded about 6 more cd's onto it.  Then I got out the 2 iTunes gift cards that I have had for over a year now and figured out iTunes.  I LOVE iTunes!!  I may have to upgrade to an iPod at some point in time.  I picked out about 40 songs, then bought about 5 more.  When I tried to figure out how to get the iTunes songs onto my MP3 player, I came across a small roadblock.  iTunes doesn't like to share its songs with plain old MP3 players.  So yesterday, I burned all my songs onto cd's (BTW, I had to buy 15 more songs so I could have 3 full cd's, rather than 2 full cd's and one with only 5 songs on it).  Then I burned those cd's back into my Windows music library and from there I was able to load them onto my MP3 player.  Did I mention already that I LOVE my MP3 player?

I also did my taxes yesterday.

And we baked some cookies and a cake in the new Easy Bake Oven.  What a fun day off, iTunes, taxes and the Easy Bake Oven!!!

Now for this week:  we are being a very well-rounded family this week.

Tonight:  Parent Teacher Conferences

Thursday:  gymnastics
Friday:  nothing

Whew, didn't realize what a busy week I have coming up!
